Modifying a 10.5 DX Fisheye for full format (FX)

I have finally bought a FX camera. Unfortunately not the one in the images, just a D700. I was offshore when this modification and update was made, my new cam waiting for me onshore. So I had to borrow a camera to try it out.

I have access to machines, so why not use them? Have a look at the images. I started with my old 10.5mm Fisheye. The lens shade was already damaged, so why not remove it to get the best out of the viewing angle of this excellent lens?

Some images taken after modification uploaded. These are rough edits, just to show the angle covered. The lens covers 180 degrees!
The last shots are from the ROV container while they did some repairs underwater. I had to cut one shot to remove my legs from the frame!

Warning! Don’t try this at home! I take absolute no responsibility for other peoples experimenting!

I had the pleasure of testing the D3s (the one in the image) a while ago, and I’m out borrowing it again..
That is a fantastic camera! It might not have the highest resolution on the market, but makes it up with high ISO capabilities. This thing can see in the dark! Highest ISO at 102 000, and the images can actually be used. Impressing!
